Tula Mic - A Swiss Army Knife of Features
The Tula Mic comes with a list of impressive features, making it ideal for content creators, musicians, and podcasters. Here's a quick rundown of what it can do:
- Built-in Recorder: The Tula Mic has a remarkable built-in audio recorder, allowing you to record up to 12 hours of audio directly inside the microphone. This means you can travel with just the Tula, leaving behind preamps and computers. It's a true on-the-go solution.
- Noise Cancellation: Tula features noise cancellation software developed by a Swedish company called Klevgrand. This software, called Brusfri, does an impressive job of removing background noise, but the version installed in the Tula Mic is milder due to the absence of adjustable settings.
- USB and Camera Compatibility: The Tula can be used as a USB microphone, making it ideal for Zoom calls, streaming, and direct recording into editing software. It also has an analog output for recording directly into your camera.
- Omnidirectional Capsule: Besides the cardioid mode for focusing on what's in front, the Tula has an omnidirectional capsule for capturing sounds from all directions. It's perfect for recording group discussions or interviews.
- Lavalier Mic Support: The Tula Mic allows you to plug in a lavalier microphone and choose between using it alone or in interview mode, where both the Tula Mic and lavalier mic record separate audio files.

Design and Sound Quality
The Tula Mic's design is both modern and stylish, boasting a retro mid-century modern look. Its compact size allows it to fit into your pocket easily, making it incredibly portable. And for its size, the Tula Mic delivers impressive audio quality, making production-ready audio possible without cumbersome setups. The 14mm cardioid capsule and separate 9.7mm omnidirectional capsule provide versatility in capturing different soundscapes.

The Tula Mic brings a lot to the table, but like any product, it has some weaknesses.
- The dead cat that Tula sells does not provide adequate wind reduction.
- The user interface may be overwhelming due to multiple buttons and functions.
- Lack of adjustable settings for noise cancellation may be limiting for some users.

While it is not perfect, the Tula Mic's pros far outweigh its cons. If you're a content creator, podcaster, or musician looking for a portable and versatile microphone that delivers great audio quality, the Tula Mic is well worth considering.
